Bottle feeding to save time

Bottle feeding to save time may seem like a great idea. This advice may ring especially true when you’re in one of those cluster feeding days or fussy periods.

And internet is full of brilliant bottle feeding hacks for parents who are always short on time. But contrary to common belief, bottle feeding is not really practical.

Bottles and nipples need to be sterilised. If you’re not using ready-to-use formula, which is more expensive, formula will be need to mixed and prepared. Imagine waiting for water to boil, bottles to cool down in the middle of the night.

Breastfeeding is also more convenient when you go out or travel. You can breastfeed almost anywhere and anytime your baby is hungry. You don’t have to carry a thing.

Moreover, studies show that nearly 80% of all babies wake up at least once at night and there is no difference between formula-fed and breastfed babies in the number of times they awoke.

Next time someone recommends bottle feeding to save time, ask them to count to 3 while your little one just starts nursing.
