Are you sure you have enough milk?

The abundance of advice on how to increase low milk supply may lead you to think this is a common issue. You’re not alone; approximately 30-80% of women are concerned with their milk supply.

But according to research actually only 5% or less suffer from what is called “primary lactation insufficiency.”

If every woman who didn’t have a problem with milk supply wrote a blog post it would have been easier to convince you.

Most low milk supply issues are based on other issues such as proper latching, positioning and strict feeding schedules. The only thing you should keep in mind is that milk supply is based on supply and demand. The more your baby nurses, the more milk you’ll produce.

If you’re concerned about your baby’s weight gain; make sure you have a good latch and feeding frequency or consult a lactation expert.
